Suzuka - Day 3
I was up at 7am and out the door by 7.30am to get a scheduled coach to Suzuka rather than the train + bus + queues... and Mrs C was out the door ahead of me to go to a park run in Nagoya. In the heat she got a personal best and beforehand noted everyone else looked much faster than her but when she finished, they all clapped her in, which was nice.
My bus took a couple of hours, but got me there before Practice 3 and then went for lunch. So 3pm meant Qualifying which throughout seemed like McLaren and Russell would finish in the top 3, until Max outdrove his car and got on pole position - he looked well chuffed because he was pretty much nowhere near that leading up to it.
We then had a Ferrari race followed by podium celebrations, then an Eve Festival right in front of us with some entertainment and 10min sessions with several sets of drivers. I left slightly early to beat some of the queues for the shuttles to the train station but there were hundreds of people there already, eek, it took about an hour to get on the bus and another hour to get back to the hotel.
Ms H began her trip to meet us here today, on Friday after work, she had a sleep after dropping the cats of at the cattery, then stayed up until 2.30am when she drove to the airport for a 6am flight to Paris, then a 1.30pm flight to Osaka (France time). She is currently over Romania and due to arrive on Sunday at 9.25am and Mrs C will help get her up to Nagoya. We're excited to see her, I hope she gets some sleep on the plane.
