Daylight saving or daylight wasting

Thirty five years ago, after a 3-year trial of daylight saving, Queenslanders decided they did not want to adopt it permanently. So be it. I appreciate the logic that daylight saving is most beneficial in temperate latitudes with long twilight hours. That’s not the case for most of Queensland.

In the early hours of tomorrow morning, the current period of daylight saving will end in the southern states of Australia. That won’t have much effect on us, other than not having to allow for a time difference when contacting friends south of the border, or watching TV programs that screen on daylight saving time.
