Hurry Up And Wait

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

Now that I've had a contract offer and the paperwork has been done....

WHEN DO YOU START?

People keep asking me.

I DO NOT KNOWWWWW

I reply.

Apparently Waka Kotahi are taking their time. Anna the Agent told me not to worry. "They have a lot of internal bureaucracy," she told me.

"Ah," said Caro. "It's the old 'hurry up and wait'." She is full of recruiter aphorisms like this.

Anna thinks I'll probably start on the 21st, but it could be a week earlier. Obviously, I'd prefer sooner but I'd also NOT prefer sooner.

The idea of another two weeks of sitting on my b*mhole is obviously very appealing. But so is money. I am torn.

All the same, not working means I am available for social engagements during the week. Which is why I ended up at the Fazzy household this afternoon! Her mum is staying, so I got to meet her, drop off chocolate bunnies and chat to Fazzy and Shahier and Hani.

(Zay was at a party).

It was lovely, as always. Fazzy and I bantered back and forth and it must have been amusing because Fazzy's mum asked if I was an entertainer. "No," sighed Fazzy. "He's like this all the time."

When I got home Fazzy sent me a lovely message thanking me for coming over. "It's always lovely to have you over," she said. "And also a nice break for Caro."

YOU'RE JUST JELLY BECAUSE I STOLE YOUR MUM

I replied.

She just laughed at that.
