Reconnections

Wow it's been quite the day. The 3 main points being; Nate's mini party at Patis Oberts. We went when it was snack and cake time, and it couldn't have been any more wonderful. The group had made him a lovely card and bracelet, and read the thoughtful message out loud to him. Then after a little while, it clicked that I recognised one of the monitors! 10 years ago she was the woman who spoke truth about the school Nate is in and Asha was about to go to. We were upset as Asha had been given Cas Serres, the worst school on the island. People at the play place, D-Nens, were saying you can't send her etc and Alba sat on the floor next to me and quietly said, 'I went there, don't believe the reputation or lies about it.'  And because of her we decided to go for it, and the rest is history. It was so so amazing to reconnect. She was flipando as the Spanish say!! I told her she's a part of our story here, she still has the gift Asha gave her when we left. D-Nens was her first job working with kids, aged 19...she's now 29! Extra added. We swapped numbers and I've sent her the Blip entry where I talk about her!
Next amazing thing was going to Nick's gig tonight. He'd asked if a few of us would go up to his dressing room beforehand and just pray together. Such a joy and a privilege. And the gig was fantastic. Another extra added of our pre gig time. And then at the concert we bumped into the home midwife from Nate's birth! Such funny timing on the eve of his 8th birthday!!!
We were home in the strike of midnight.

Today I'm grateful for;
1) The reconnections today.
2) Nearly getting through this latest load of washing.
3) Nate being delighted by his cake and mini celebration. Pure joy.
