Life in Sunny Dubai

Green Line

It's been quite a day, beginning with G taking a taxi to meet Anna. Diane picked me up for our coffee time in Al Seef, and she joined us after she finished her meeting.

It is getting hot—either that or we are experiencing a heatwave. Diane and I sat outside, but just when it got unbearable and we got up to move indoors, G arrived. I had already heard from the garage that the car was ready to be collected. Diane very kindly offered to drive us there, so we are mobile again. Phew.

I finished the work day pleased with what I'd got done, and then, we just had to go out. I suggested a car wash and a trip to Sharjah to return a part we didn't use, but in the end, we parked up at Creek station and got on the Metro. Had G not got into a conversation with a fellow passenger, we would have disembarked at Ghubaiba and walked along the Creek, but instead, we ended up going to the end of the Green Line to the e& (yes, that is its name) station. The Green Line opened in September 2011, but we rarely use it. Today, we went from one end to the other and straight back—the total cost of the journey per person - Dh 3 (or around 60p).

G took the picture of the carriages before we got off. Straight home to finish yesterday's dinner.

Happy Weekend!
