Aphrica Phriday

Still feeling pretty rough from the antibiotics so I ended up cutting my working day short. It is Phriday after all. I concocted a wee route to the back of Balerno to go a-huntin' and investigatin' some phoneboxery and get some fresh air while trying to make up my mind whether to keep the bike or not.

The mad little junction at Hillend now with traffic lights is definitely safer, but I certainly couldn't say it was definitely faster, because it totally isn't. It took two cycles of the lights to get through. Later I discovered more roadworks, so I took to the bypass, on which some tipper truck conveniently then broke down. I filtered through the jam behind two other motorbike riders but they seemed to be in more of a hurry than me.

Then out along the Lanark Road, and rumbled up Currie Kirk, into the countryside. I nearly stopped at Harlaw reservoir but it was pretty cold outside still. Dropping back down further on towards Balerno I found my target, another repurposed K6 telephone kiosk, with lots of books and jigsaws to borrow. But alas it's a MacFarlane foundry box and not Lion

I came home the old, slow way, stopping at the Aldi to get something for tea.
