Rising
It's been a busy week at work this week; month/year end finances driving me marginally doolally. Today, I am grateful for the gorgeous sunrise, the Subway lunch I had, and the fact that Rich managed to nab Lady Gaga tickets for us!
Finished a 14th book for my Bookworm Challenge; there's just one day left so I shall have to see if I can squash one more in tomorrow. I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed with not hitting my target, but rationally I know that times are really tough and folks have to be real choosy about if they give and who they give to. I tried my best!
I came across the passage in my extra in the afterword of my 14th book, John Dies At The End, where the author talks about how he'd love to say he has an inspirational story of writing and getting published and hard graft leading to mega success and that he never lost hope that it would happen for him, but he doesn't. He talks about how we need to create for the joy of creation, and he's so right. In this time of algorithms and views and likes and monetisation, it can feel like you're shouting into a void, but folks, YOU DID THE THING. You wrote the book, launched the podcast, painted the art, wrote the song; that's yours and it'll be yours forever. You created something and that in and of itself is fucking marvellous. You are amazing. Keep going.
