Monster cricket stumps

Zoom into a cricket wicket, and you find life at the foot of the stumps. This is commemorated in the Scottish National Monument, which I understand was going to be a Scottish Parthenon to honour Scots who fell in the Napoleonic Wars, but was never finished.
