Patrington Church
Today we drove inland to Patrington where we had a look around the church. This was an unusual shape with a central tower. There was even a small chapel above one of the doors, though we couldn't get into it. The first extra shows the gold statues that were behind the altar.
We drove back to our cottage for lunch and then walked up the road to take some photos of another church, this one deconsecrated and half way through conversion to a house. It did look like there was no progress on the conversion for a while though! There were two war graves in the cemetery attached from the first world war - both from the same date, listed as unknown seaman.
We then took a walk down to the Wildlife Trust Centre for tea and cake then walked back up to our cottage via a very quiet and not very interesting antiques place. There didn't seem to be anyone around to open anything up for us!
We kept walking through the caravan park and eventually got onto the beach to do the reverse of our walk from a few days ago, this time with the sun in a different place. We had fun taking photographs of the sea, watching the foam being blown up the beach by the wind, and exploring the concrete ruins (second extra).
We found the brick wall (last extra) that had spent many years being battered by the waves and it had worn down in interesting ways.
Then it was time to go back to the same pub we ate in Tuesday for a lovely dinner, and to watch the sunset from the same table again.
