People and a dog in Market Street…
There’s an exhibition of sketches of St Peter port in the George Crossan Gallery and there are so many wonderful exhibits it was difficult to choose just one. I’ve fiddled with it a bit for Abstract Thursday but have included the original as an extra.
Yesterday I had a gastroscopy and colonoscopy. I refused the option of having sedation because I find it totally riveting to watch the camera travelling around my gut; though I appreciate it may not be everyone’s cup of tea! One thing l learnt was that a colon can have a birth mark in exactly the same way as skin and he showed me one in my colon. I don’t have a birth mark on my skin but now I know I have one. How cool is that!
What amused me was the report which included a drawing of my colon showing the points where pics were taken. I’ve put a pic of it in extras. I think it looks like a swan with its head down which really amuses me…
My last meal was a small breakfast on Tuesday so that was 36 hours without food. My goodness I was ravenous when I finally got home and had a meal. My friend had given me a cottage pie so I could have a hearty meal after starving myself for so long. But I couldn’t even wait for another 30 to 40 minutes to heat it up (one of the downsides of not having a microwave is the extra time an oven takes in an emergency) so I ate it cold. And it was delicious!
When I was lying in bed at night I could hear my stomach grumbling away. I think it was my stomach grumbling at my brain. ‘It was good of you to give me a few hours without work to do but I expected a bit longer…’ to which my brain’s response was ‘Well I was I was hungry too, as I knew I would be so that was as long as it could be. Since it is important to keep me healthy I asked my body to go down to M&S and get some M&S brain food yogurt to give me a boost’.My thought was ‘Could my brain and gut now shut up so I can get to sleep because I have to be up and about to get my blip in the morning’ !
