Noticing

It’s a little thing, maybe an inch across and not very tall. I didn’t know what it was, but I was taken by its Dr Seuss quality. When I started to scrutinize the photo at home, I was struck by the Sunflower-ness of the yellow pattern. Fibonacci in action! And sure enough, Cotula, or Creeping Gold Buttons, is a ground cover in the Sunflower family.

What else did I do today? Laundry, since the sun was out and it was quite windy. Lunch downtown, where we split a Vietnamese sandwich. A quick turn through the Farmers’ Market, where I was stunned to see my favorite Chocolate Salt Cookie was marked up to $5.00! For one cookie! Is that what bird flu and general insanity have gotten us?

I did a little knitting on a new chicken, and then helped my son with his taxes. I’m pleased to report that I still can figure out (most) of that stuff. Nice to know I haven’t lost my touch. Yet.
