Dolly's Day

WOR EDDIE

Had two parcels to collect from the Convenience Store so I headed there this afternoon.  Then to Tesco.  I noticed that the Barnardos charity shop was open today so it seems that when it was closed last week it was only temporary.

Back home to get some chores out of the way and to send off an e mail.

Then around 5.30pm I got a bus to Newcastle.  Newcastle United had a home game against Brentford... kick off 7.45pm.  I hadn't been to a match since 23rd February.  I missed the game v Brighton as I was in Yorkshire and there have been no other games due to the International break.  So I was looking forward to getting back to St James Park this evening.

The atmosphere was great as usual.  Wor Flags had provided small "  waver flags " to everyone in the Leazes Stand and it was a wonderful scene of gold and black when all the flags were waved before kick off.

For the Wide Wednesday challenge which has the theme of " A treasure " Ive blipped the flag display in the Gallowgate stand which acknowledges the achievement of  our Manager Eddie Howe who took the team to Wembley and won the Carabao Cup.  He really is a Manager to treasure.  As well as winning the Cup he has taken the team up the Premiership table  -  they are in 5th position at the moment   Eddie is well respected and well loved on Tyneside.  Thanks to BobsBlips for hosting the challenge.

The match was a good one.  Newcastle were one nil up at half time.  However Brentford were awarded a penalty in the second half which they scored... easily. But Newcastle did win the game with a great goal from Sandro Tonali on the 74th minute.  I had a good view of this goal and it was amazing.  Final score Newcastle 2  Brentford 1

Getting home was trouble free apart from having a bit of a wait for a bus as they aren't very frequent in the evenings.

Weather was dry ad bright again but quite chilly this evening at the match.

Late blip so no time for comments this evening.  Will try and catch up tomorrow.
