That was cold
This morning I woke to the sound of rain, and saw a grey, grey morning. Knew I would have to go out for a run early and was fortunate that for the duration, the rain desisted. The clouds persisted, and the only indication that the sun had risen above the horizon was that there was an increase in the amount of light. And that varied even during the run, and certainly throughout the drab wet ('dreich') day.
Along the Snells Beach foreshore, gulls predominated. I did see two ducks paddling slowly along, and one kingfisher on a post, who departed before I could get very close. A couple of herons later on in a field, and a tui in a tree.
So gulls it is. This one landed in the water and then bounced a couple of times before settling on the sand.
A day on the agenda papers, which this month are more than ever before. Having a break by posting this and then a light meal, before a bit more reading this evening.
