Looks innocent, smells suspicious
Every morning there is something new in the garden suddenly come into bloom.
Well today it’s the turn of the skunk cabbage.
Yes, I know this ornamental plant with an unfortunate name and smell is on the list of invasive plants.
But all I can say we have had ours for around ten years, bought from a garden in the Trossachs during Open Gardens and it as barely moved. We get less than half a dozen bright yellow blooms year.
Maybe the reason for the lack of it spreading is that its planted in a dry spot and it likes marshy ground preferably close to water.
