Outrageous Fortune
Things have taken a turn for the unfortunate. I'm pretty sure, but haven't tested, that I acquired a dose of Covid in the North, so I'm laid low, or at least bed height. This explains a lot about what has been puzzling in the past few days. Fortunately, I have a rock - not this one - so I'm being cared for better than my dilatory self-care deserves. MrsM has a much more adult attitude to her own health. Prognosis uncertain, but my lesson is learned - and reinforced sternly - so I aim to be more cautious for the next few days
To add to the day's entertainment, I also managed to get myself into a state of hyperventilation. I've done it once before, 40 years ago, also linked to a virus, and fortunately (that word again) another good friend was around at the time to tell me what to do (you need a paper bag) and I (eventually) had the presence of mind to realise what was happening today. It's quite a frightening state to get yourself into but the cure is very quick and subjectively is close to miraculous
Fortunately also, I took one picture before I reverted to horizontal. Without this, you would have a charming picture of our neighbour's tie-bar, holding his house together, which is all I can see without the exhausting prospect of standing up and walking
This rock is part of the plinth that holds up a base plate, that holds up our straw walls, that hold up a top plate, that holds up big, heavy roof timbers, that hold up concrete roof tiles. I took the picture because the light today picks out the fossils embedded in it. Life forms from 150 million years ago; providing perspective
