A lovely day

This morning, I attended an online conference organised by colleagues in the faculty of Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies (WELS), straying from my home faculty meant that I had to make sure that I had my passport and that I was careful to avoid speaking in techy. As it was, the conference offered a view of the area that I work in, from a different perspective. It was called "Inspiring Digital Futures: Higher Education with the TikTok Generation" and we had a number of presentations from colleagues doing some really interesting stuff to support teaching and learning in the digital age. The keynote speaker was Dr Achala Gupta from the University of Southampton. She gave a fascinating presentation on the challanges and opportunities posed by Generative AI in Higher Education. Although I work in the school of Computing & Communications, in the Faculty of STEM, I think that WELS is probaby my spiritual home. The kind of morning that is so much fun that I almost feel guilty getting paid for the time... Almost.
