Slippers

They were leaving just after 10:30 am; I made a few calls before walking them to the station and helping them onboard with the luggage. As I crossed the road heading home, I heard a platform announcement saying something about signalling issues at Vauxhall. Although it wasn’t a problem when they boarded, it became a bit of an issue on their journey, but I eventually received a message that they’d only just made their Birmingham-bound train at Euston and were on the way home.

Walking through the door, I saw Mum had left her slippers by the stairs. Until this weekend, visitors have been offered a pair of slippers from a stack I collected from hotels when I used to travel for work. I still have a few pairs sealed in their protective bags. But they’re flip-flop style, and Mum prefers something with a back, so these were brought when they arrived last Thursday. They didn’t go to Paris with us; she forgot to pack them before heading for the train home. We’ll see if I need to post them or not.
