Marjorie's ramblings

How did she lose her hand?

Today I was in the group that walked from Ripley to Knaresborough. We had taxis to take us to the delightful village of Ripley.

Thankfully it was quiet in the early morning.

In the church I found the 14th century tomb of Sir Thomas Ingilby and his wife, Ediline. The couple are resting on a wild boar because Sir Thomas rescued King Edward III from one. The family took the boar into their coat of arms.

The woods by the river were lovely with lots of lesser celandine and wood anemones in flower. We saw our first bluebells of the year too.

Sarah, in the group who walked farther, fell and hurt her right hand. I was drafted in to have a look at it. There are no signs of any fracture.

Tonight we hope for quicker service at dinner!
