Compare and Contrast

"old" camera behaving a bit erratically so updated to new one. Doesn't get the best reviews (loses the viewfinder, low light quality not the best) BUT it does have an immense zoom range which I use a lot. Now going to see how much to repair old one.

Do I go  to something different and forsake the zoom?
