Old Hospital

Some people think of 'One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest' when they see this former hospital (or asylum as it was called).  Others say it also looks like it belongs as a set in a horror movie.

In fact they described it as being for the housing of  'pauper lunatics' back in the 1880s.  I can't imagine what was going on in there in those days.    Mental health has changed an enormous amount since then
thank goodness. 

The good news is that much of it is being converted to housing and some sections are already occupied and look really nice.
