Happy birthday Annemarie!

Here we are celebrating my wife’s birthday at Mr. Mofongo restaurant in Groningen.

This morning her parents and Joke and Peter came by for coffee. A bigger party is planned when it’s warmer, in June. Annemarie turned 50 today and she’d like to celebrate it on a somewhat bigger scale as well. Outside, during summer time, with a BBQ probably.
Fine by me, although I wouldn’t have opted for that.
I turned 50 during Covid lockdown and that suited me best.

Anyway, because of our visitors we missed most of the re-enactment of the liberation of Appingedam, as mentioned yesterday.
When we arrived in the town centre there was already a lot of shooting going on, and we were just in time to see the Germans surrender.
