Rusalka
What a weekend. Today we drove with Stu and Judy to see the Pacific Northwest Opera perform Rosalia by Dvorak. I was familiar with a lovely aria to the moon from the first act but not with the rest of the music. It is rich and luscious. The orchestra in the pit did a fantastic job and so did the singers.
They used a big backdrop screen as the main element of the setting of each of the three acts. They used it to display beautiful moonlit water and forest, and the prince’s palace. It was a long opera with intermissions between each act.
So beautiful. The music. The voices. Everything.
Afterwords we all went out to dinner at the Granary. What a great way to spend a day.
