Contemplating the end of the bee-keeping year
Here you see a picture of blackberry and which grows prolifically near my home. When it ceases to flower then that means it is pretty well the end of the bee-keeping year and it is time to think about getting in the honey crop.
So for the next fortnight or so I will be arranging for the honey to be removed from my bee hives. It is a time when the normally placid honey bee can become aggressive. One can understand why.
It is one of the first signs of the onset of autumn.
