Mothering Sunday
Which was originally more to do with returning to your mother church, though obviously that often included your Mum as well. And a bouquet could be picked from the lanes on the way.
So grateful for our family's mother church - the church that has supported us faithfully from before I met Mike, our wedding, our kids' weddings, my Mum's funeral, and all our years abroad. May God's grace enable the church to carry on being a place of welcome and nurture.
Apart from Mike (arriving on Tuesday, hopefully), we were all in church this morning, including the week old newest arrival, who got passed around. Deb led, Paul preached, Zion read the passage, Felicity played the violin, Sam was leading the youth work.
Meanwhile, I raced home to finish getting lunch ready, which we ate in a very sunny garden (extra) - Eden had run down the bottom, and Sofía was in a carry cot on the ground, out of the sun. Too hot for March!
Gratefuls:
- a card and candle, signed by my three, but bought and wrapped by my d-i-l, thanks, Felicity!
- a bottle of Italian red from Sam and the kids, plus chocolate, shared over lunch
- being in our church on Mothering Sunday
