Confetti

It’s been a fantastic year for the cherry tree in our front garden. Last year the blossom was blown away almost as soon as it came out, but this year we’ve had blue skies and not so much wind and the tree has been a delight. I’ve been told by several people that they’ve seen passers by taking photographs of it (including a man in a white van who apparently stopped and took one through his cab window!).

All good things must come to an end, though, and the petals are now falling fast. The flower bed around the base of the tree looks for all the world as though a wedding has just taken place, with the remnants of the bride’s confetti petals the only visible sign left.
