What a beautiful day!
It's been like summer in Edinburgh the last few days and apparently the temperature is set to rise even higher. Every time I've been on my walks recently, Ann has had to take her anorak off and today it was soooo hot that every now and again I just had to stop and have a little lie down on the grass.
We were walking on the Braid Hills and then we went down into the Hermitage. Once I realised that we were en-route to the Hermitage, I went racing down the hill so that I could have a long flop down in the burn before Ann caught up with me. Everyone was commenting on what a happy, smiley little doggie I was and how much I was enjoying my cool down. And then, when Ann caught up with me and said, 'Trixie, come. We're going this way', I jumped out of the water, had a big shake, and went running after Ann and I heard someone say, 'Not only is that dog really pretty, she's really obedient as well.' Ann was so proud of me!
After my walk I had to stay 'home alone' while Ann went into town for her first Shingles jab. What a difference from all the flu/covid vaccines that she had during lock down, when she had to stand in a queue for hours. Today she just walked straight into the vaccination centre (she was early), was taken straight away and was actually back home by 5.30pm (which was the time of her appointment). Great service or what?! However, she's a little bit worried because everyone she knows that has had the shingles vaccine has been a bit unwell afterwards. We have Cornish friends coming to stay tomorrow for a few days, and obv she doesn't want to be unwell while they're here. But hey ho, so far, so good. Her arm isn't even sore, so hopefully all will be well. The 'jabber' said, drink lots of fluids, so she's having a glass of wine. Lol!!!
Oh, and while we're on the subject of me being left 'home alone', …............In our Edinburgh flat we have two leather sofas. In the past if I've been left 'home alone', Ann has returned to find me having a snooze on them so she's had to put stuff on them to prevent me from using them as a bed. This time I haven't even attempted to have snooze time on them. Why do you think that is? It's a mystery??!!
