Snowy...

C and I visited Palm Point Nature Park yesterday. I'll share, over the next couple of days, some of the photos I took. This Park is on the eastern shore of Newnan's Lake, a large, shallow lake (mostly 5-6ft in depth) that is much loved and appreciated by folks in our county for boating, kayaking and fishing. The birds were just waiting for me and my camera. This is a Snowy Egret. It was 'fishing' for the tiny minnows gathered in the shallows. Snowys are common in both North and South America and are easily identified by their black bills, black legs and yellow feet. In mating season they are dressed in 'lacy' feathers on their heads, breasts and backs. Do check the *extras...for more photos of this Snowy Egret.  m
