At the beach

Dogs aren’t allowed on the beaches round here from 1st April until 1st October, so as we woke up to blue skies and sunshine we packed a flask of coffee and a bottle of water and set off.
Elvis had fun with a female chocolate lab, and then we walked to the boulangerie for a couple of pains aux raisins, and we found a bench by the sea to eat our breakfast.
By this time the skies were grey and cloudy, so we definitely saw the best part of the day.
The white blobs on the sand are oyster shells, washed up with the tide, as they breed in this estuary. Sometimes they still have oysters inside them!
