Saturdays in Spring

We only had time for a few jobs, empty the dishwasher, fill the outside fountains, before it was time to head north. We planned to have lunch before Brooklyn’s soccer game but there wasn’t enough time to get there and back. We went directly to the school and read while we waited. It was a most unusual game. Shortly after it started, the ball was heading near the other team’s goal. Brooklyn ran out to stop it on the left side. One of our players kicked the ball hard, it veered way right, away from the direction B was running, and scored for the other team. We were dumbfounded. And that was the only goal scored in either game we played today. We had a long wait between games. Hubby and I went to lunch. Kim, Brooklyn and their friends shopped for spring formal dresses. Kim is working on a professional teaching certification. She asked me to read her work to date. I am the litmus test for understandability. I am impressed with the program she is developing at the county level to improve our students’ reading, writing and spelling education. The students like the new approach as well. I read until it was time for the second game. Brooklyn played on the field. She and our other goalie rotate. On the way to our cars, I couldn’t resist taking a photo of this tulip tree. I saved half of my Mexican chicken bowl for dinner. Hubby has more leftovers. We should get home in time to read a bit before bed. The girls play at 8:00 tomorrow morning. It takes at least 90 minutes to get to the field. We are staying home, going to Mass and preparing the van for sale. Brooklyn certainly understands. Wishing you a quiet Sunday. Stay safe. Thanks for dropping by. "Flowers and colours everywhere, I am so glad that March is here." - Anamika Mishra
