Jurassic grill
Feeling back to rights today so I took up the invitation from sword pal M to go climb Conic Hill. Also realised that other sword pal M lives pretty close so picked her up on the way in too.
It wasn't perfect weather for hill climbing and the wind had really picked up by the time we got to the top which left for some rather blustery blips! It also meant that M wasn't able to use his trangia stove and make a 'hobbit breakfast' from the supplies in his pack. We were all rather wet and cold at the bottom so headed to the cafe.
Unfortunatley, even on a cold and wet Saturday in late March, the Balmaha cafe and pub were rammed, so we got into cars and headed to Balloch, lured by the promise of the cafe in the sea life centre being good.
We never made it to the sea life centre as we passed by the 'Jurassic Grill' and had to go check it out like the responsible adults we were. It certinaly was an experience - decked out with fake rocks, plants and many a plastic dinosaur. Three of the party braved the 'blue raptor' burger, which came on a blue bun with both hot sauce and blue cheese sauce. Needless to say, I don't think anyone will be ordering one again. We did get entertained by the dinosaurs 'Trixie' and 'Vince' coming to the table to say hi and being asked what our favourite dinosaurs were. We also contemplated buying a 'Jurassic Grill' t-shirt each so we could all wear them at the sword club but dd'nt quite take it that far. All had a good time though!
Blip is of Hamish the velociraptor in M's hat.
