Town and Country
Gavin left first thing this morning to drive to Norfolk to drop some things off at the house that the agent said were needed. The rental agency did a test run last weekend by staying in the house and then came back with a list of missing items, things like a Yorkshire pudding baking tray - not sure who would book a weekend away in a lovely house and then spend Sunday slaving over a roast dinner when there are numerous excellent pubs all nearby, some in walking distance. He duly dropped off what was needed and then came back home again, a mere 6 hour return trip!
I took Xena on a long walk, it is not a winter walk as part of the route is too muddy and waterlogged, so now that it is so dry not having had rain for weeks, it is do-able once again. It takes about 2.5 hours and is about 8 - 9 km long. It looked so warm today but there was a chilly breeze, many people were in shorts and I think they got caught out thinking it would be warmer than it was. At one point on the walk there were dog walkers, runners, cyclists and horse riders all on the same long path - so it's true to say that every man and his dog and horse were out today! This is an underpass where the train crosses over the route, and this is actually the bit that usually remains flooded all winter and one cannot get through without getting wet feet.
Tomorrow the clocks go back forward as British summer time commences, which means it will be darker in the mornings but lighter at the end of the day - pre-sunrise photography is feasible once again but not for long as the days lengthen very quickly from now on. It is also Mother Sunday tomorrow and I received a lovely card from Luke today - he will be on the long 25 hour journey back from Langkawi tomorrow.
