The road to nowhere

While the teen was (successfully) completing his open water dive certificate, we took Little miss bossy to an Ostrich farm outside of Palma that people (justifiably) rave about on Trip Advisor. It's a small, family concern and we were shown around by the son who has helped his parents develop the business, we were able to meet them, feed them and learn all about these curious creatures (the ostriches that is, not the parents). I took so many photos and would have blipped this but the teen over-ruled me (didn't ask Little miss bossy as she would have had another opinion altogether I'm sure).
After lunch we tried to drive to Port de Sóller but for the second time the road was blocked by a police car. Mr K had earlier bought a map, in theory better than the freebie that comes with the hire car, Ordnance Survey it isn't, I was very unimpressed (having been trained to map read by a father who liked towing the family caravan down single track lanes that had grass growing down the middle) and so we set off in roughly the right direction (the coast was on the left) and soon found ourselves part of a small convey all seemingly trying to reach Sóller. We went up and up and round and round before going down and then up, hairpin bend followed hairpin bend, the views were amazing, the children less than impressed. Port de Sóller was nice but I don't think it was quite worth such a long drive!
