Morning trip to town,  treated myself to some colourful tulips.  Took hound for walk on return.

Had intended to visit a National Trust location with friend Jo but she cried off as she's hurt her hand and cannot drive.  Hopefully we'll go next week.

Today we received an email from our estate agent regarding the structural survey.  It seems that our loft conversion is problematic.  At the time of construction the company we used were problematic, we now realise from the survey this has cut deeper - structurally.  It may also be problematic for other houses' loft conversions including one across the street. 

As a result the estate agent has negotiated a price drop which is manageable.  We certainly don't want to carry on living here so have no wish to sink cash into the house.

Some of the survey report is redacted with blocked out sections.  Mr and I think this may be due to personal remarks made by the surveyor.  One remark implies the building certificate made by the council may be false.  We trusted, blindly perhaps which has left an unpleasant feeling.

I had a feeling the extra survey wasn't a positive.  Mr felt otherwise.  I do trust my gut feelings. 

Hopefully over the weekend I'll come to terms with this news and feel less uncomfortable with it.
