City of woodpeckers

An interesting day exploring the highlights of Krakow; I hadn’t expected to see quite so many greater spotted woodpeckers in the trees lining the river Vistula. I even managed to blip one of them, extra.

I did the usual self guided route starting in the Central Square and up to Wawel Castle and Cathedral. I diverted to the Banksy Museum and the Jewish Quarter. Other highlights included a brief exchange with a window cleaning nun, and from the bus window coming back to the airport I saw my first white stork, which bodes well for the next few days.
