Friendships

Phew, a very full day. It was capped off by seeing L's son Nathan star in his middle school musical, "Something Rotten." The cast did such a great job. It was really as good as some high school productions I've seen; his school's noted for its theater program. It was very colorful and funny, and the audience loved it, L above all. A photo of Nathan posing afterward. Good grief, I remember this kid toddling down a hallway and crashing happily into my knees - that's how L and I became friends.

Bit of an about-face going to the play, as I'd just been talking to my mom and sister after hearing that a close family friend died a couple days ago. Jacquie and her husband (wed at 16 and married over 6 decades) were really my parents' friends, but we grew up knowing them and all the stories of their pranks and adventures. Not too many folks left now who really remember my dad. My sis has also been at the bedside of a good friend of hers who is in hospice care.

However! grateful for good, lifelong friends. And a nice boost today from speaking to the director of the ER, as staff members do this time of year. And for the beautiful Spring.
