Over Yonder

delicate

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

I had the good fortune to be bolt awake at 1am this morning. I say it was good because it allowed me plenty of rehydration time.

I gobbled up water like it was going out of fashion and fell back to sleep at about 3am.

Consequently when the boys woke me up at 5, I was actually pretty ok. I mean, very sleepy and a bit delicate but there was only a small headache and no actual spew anywhere.

I count this as a win.

The rest of my day was very quiet. Caro has been really sweet and supportive and told me to take it easy all day. But I had my own plans. I have - as you know - been planning to try and emulate Uncle Roger.

So today I started by making rice (a mixture of basmati and jasmine as per expert instructions) and "velveting" chicken (tenderising by marinading in a mix of soy, oil, salt, pepper, MSG, cornflour and baking soda).

These are both now in my fridge, waiting to be fried up tomorrow. I also did the laundry and got HEAPS of calls about jobs which is really encouraging. The upshot of which is that I have TWO interviews early next week.

YAY BUT ALSO BUSINESS SHIRTS EW

Said Briar, by way of congratulation.

It's making me feel a lot less stressed and a lot more able to enjoy my enforced idleness. I did some laundry and played with the cats. And I mused that I have become a "trad wife" for working man Caro.

Speaking of cats, today's blip is Chrissy Pickles' lovely card to me. You can read what she wrote in the extras. I really am going to miss my old office, but hopefully the new one will have a new Chrissy Pickles too.
