Patience tested
My fiancee and I heard this rail but couldn't find it and decided to be patient, which is difficult for me. We waited quietly watching the reeds at the waters edge hoping for a glimpse. People wandered past staring at the grass with us but eventually giving up and wishing us luck. Our patience was greatly rewarded when this little guy wandered into a bare spot allowing me to capture its image. This was my first Clapper rail sighting and as secretive as they are I am impressed with this photo.
