Equus Caballus

The title is the Latin name for the single species of horse, which has numerous varieties, called breeds. They are all hoofed herbivorous mammals. There are other slightly differing descriptions I'm sure.

Just outside the gate into it's field  was some sort of feeder which had been knocked over, probably by the horse, and food pellets were scattered around. 

I gave him a few handfuls but as I walked away he started banging on the gate, no doubt to attract my attention. I returned and gave him some more and as I left he started his banging again, I didn't go back this time!
