Afternoon Sunshine

Actually, the day was all sunny, but the amaryllis/hippeastrum flower looked best in the low afternoon sun. 

This plant has some history. It was a gift at Christmas about 15 years ago; like so many amaryllis bulbs just meant to flower once, and been thrown away later. But I kept it, and it grew. 

A few years later, we accidentally overwatered it, so it started to rot. I took it out of the pot, peeled off all the rotten bits, let the bulb dry out, planted it again without much hope - and it grew again, and started to produce not only more flowers, but also offsets (baby bulbs) every year. 

It will get a bigger pot soon, and I need to find homes for its children. Anyone interested?
