House finch amidst the cherry blossom

My blip came to me quite early today. When I opened the family room blinds this morning, this pretty little house finch was sitting on top of our weeping cherry tree on which the buds are just opening up. I tried taking a photo through the window, but that didn’t work very well, so I tried opening the door a crack and poking the camera through. He flew off, but fortunately flew back again, and I was able to get a couple of shots. Meanwhile, the feeders at the back of the house were also busy today, with cardinals, starlings, grackles, mourning doves, red-bellied woodpecker, downy woodpecker and blue jays.
Otherwise it was a fairly routine day, with my usual activities, and a swim in the afternoon - 46 lengths today.
