The ruined Imperial Palace (Kaiserpfalz) of Kaiserslautern popularly known as Barbarossaburg or Kaiserslautern Castle, is a fortified and administrative castle built by Emperor Frederick Barbarossa in the 12th century as a royal palace in the West Palatinate city of Kaiserslautern (now Rhineland-Palatinate).
