Lighter Every Week

The walk to football gets lighter every week. A close-fought game despite a last-minute call-off that left the numbers uneven. A tweaked the sides to compensate and we might have had the edge but for an injury to J and a couple of controversial goals that were either kicked out of the goalie's hands and bundled over the line, or not, depending which team you were on. I scored a couple - one more of a tap in after someone else's shot had hit the bar and a much better one when I beat the keeper on his near post but we lost by one in the end.
