Mango tree

I had no idea that mango trees can grow so large (up to 30 metres high and in circumference) and that the fruit hangs down on relatively long stems. Nor did I realise that around 1000 varieties are edible and traded. 

The only strange thing is that apparently very good mangoes come from this area, we have been told more than once that the mango season has now started and yet we only see the mangoes on the trees in the hotel. None of them have made it onto a plate yet.
