Reflecting and TV for Dogs

Do you kno that we now have our own TV channel…Woof? Woof???
Yes we do BUT I have to go to The US of A to view it AND The Boss will have to fork out $5.00 a month.

The theory is that lots of folk feel guilty about not walking their dog (The Boss maybe) so will cheerfully fork out some money so they can be amused watching TV..... BUT there is a small problem.
When I first spied a cousin on the box I shot round the back to check it out and only smelt hot transistors. This is just NOT THE SAME and I lost interest immediately.

The Boss says, after reading an authoritive article that we don’t care about TV ‘Cos it looks like a slideshow powered by a dim strobe light.

We see the world at a faster frame rate than humans do. Humans' flicker fusion rate is about 50-60 Hz, meaning they see the world in 50 to 60 images per second. For us dogs, that rate is closer to 70-80 Hz.

As Alexandra Horowitz explains in her best-selling book Inside of a Dog, canines "see the individual frames and the dark space between them too." She continues: "This - and the lack of concurrent odours wafting out of the television - Sniff sniff … explains why you can’t fool me. The whole deal fails the sniff test.

Not so fast, say the people at DogTV. That may have been true on the old tube TVs, but dogs are increasingly able to see TV images normally. How?

"New LCD technology," DogTV answers. "The refresh rate on the newer television screens is now 100Hz and up, perfect for continuous canine viewing."

So just as I have always thought, we have superior looking gear. Mind you almost anything would be superior to The Boss’s 4 eyes anyway. As for ME watching the stuff, you have to be kidding. Nobody in the house watches it now and the reality shows just aren’t real enough to be bothered barking at.
Except maybe for that bloke with the blue Police Box and the grinding noise. I can Bark at THAT.

Todays shot was from the second bit of the Millennium walkway which The Boss took me for walkies. We didn't do other stuff 'Cos there had been a rabbit poisoning program and "on lead" was a strict requirement.

Lean forward for a better look?

Uh oh...perhaps not.
