At the park
We've seen this cairn at Bennett Park before, but someone has added to it and it caught my eye. It does look a little out of place on the edge of a playing field where disc golf is played. It's also next to a gravel road that we walk on, but I think of a cairn as more of a marker on a walking path. At least that's where I saw them when I lived in the northeast and hiked the Metacomet Trail. But hey... this is Florida!!
Because I am always curious, I just looked Cairn up on Wikipedia. What a rich history, with various purposes all over the world. A large paragraph about a deep history in Ireland and Britain, which I'm sure many of you already knew!!
