Rear Window

Agaves are the perfect plant for our landscape because they will grow in the worst of soil, but what little care they need requires braving the  spearlike leaves (bracts?) ending in dangerously sharp thorns. And they do tend to multiply, unbidden. John went out to do battle with one in front of the house and I reminded him not to stay out too long for we are having two days of summer before we revert back to chilly spring and it gets seriously hot in front of our house. I thought about reminding him to protect his hands and arms but decided, in keeping with my new vow not to be controlling, that if he didn't have sense enough to protect his arms, he deserved whatever happened.

When I went looking for him to assist in today's photo, he was just coming back in after four hours  bright red in the face , dried blood running down his arm. Other than insisting that he wash his arm, I said nothing more. But he looked the part of James Stewart, a recuperating news photographer confined to a wheelchair who believes he has witnessed a murder, in the Alfred Hitchcock film, 'Rear Window'. At least John looked like he was recuperating from something....

I wasn't  all that sick with Covid, but I'm beginning to realize, now that I've recovered that I did have a pretty good case of Covid brain fog. I'm now trying to catch up, finish a little quilt where time is of the essence, and spend at least some time outside in this beautiful weather.
Apologies for brief or missed comments while I try to get caught up.

Now I'm going to go outside, (in sandals and a tee-shirt!)  and enjoy the sun....
