Spring Bursting

This stage of the onset of spring probably occurred three weeks ago in the south of England.

Up here in Fife, the buds on horse chestnut trees, Aesculus hippocastanum, are just starting to burst open.  The buds on other trees are aso awakening.  It shouldn't be long before we see actual leaves.
