Busy blues

We have blue tits nesting!

It's been three fallow years since I bought the camera nesting box and so this makes me inordinately happy.

I had the live stream propped up against my computer screen this morning as I worked.  The behaviour was fascinating, the blue tit (though at one point I saw two blue tits) were rapidly in and out of the box - bringing in nesting materials and then taking them out again.  Apparently it's the female that takes charge of making the nest.  

It's been a hard day for my NZ friend thepainterswife .  Her daughter Ella is flying to the other side of the world which is here in the UK.  I have known Amanda and husband David since we were all travelling in our 20's, which is just what Ella is doing now. I've promised to be a safe haven for her and am very excited to meet her.
