The Spit

One of our friends took us down the coast for a bit of sightseeing and art appreciation. First stop was at The Spit which is a breakwater that was built in 1986. It protects the channel that allows boats to enter the ocean. Then we called in at Surfers Paradise beach to see the erosion caused by cyclone Alfred (extra 1). Lunch was a shared pizza at Baritalia. Afterwards we headed to HOTA (Home of the Arts) to see a couple of exhibitions. Extra 2 is one of the artworks in A Bigger View. It's called Mount Analogue and is by Imants Tillers.
