Been a long day....
I took this image yesterday evening, to mark the entry into spring and the evidence of the disappearing wood pile...and a definite sign of spring. But also because it was the evening before i had to get up at 2.30 am this morning and start my journey out here, to B.C.
Our road is such a mud bath that we decided to meet the taxi at the bottom of Big Hill....so at 2.30 am Terry drove me to the taxi. An interesting ride with a lovely young Indian guy. The flight to Montreal was just fine and after a 1 hour wait, i boarded the plane to Vancouver. I had a lovely young couple seated next to me, with a 5 month old baby! of course i was thinking "oh dear, this is going to be a long flight!" but she was amazing! not a peep out of her - and the parents were delightful. They were transferring to a long haul flight to Chine, 12 hours....after reaching Vancouver! Wow, what young folks do is pretty impressive. I would never have ventured onto a plane with a 5 month old baby.....we are all brave in different ways i guess!
I was met by Owen and Morgan and it was so good to see them. We had to wait over an hour for our luggage, lots of planes arriving at once apparently! How they manage to keep it all working is beyond my imagination.
It's always interesting to chat with folks at the airport, sitting next to me while waiting for our luggage, was a guy who had just been travelling for over 22 hours, a 14 hour long flight from Indian....and he still had to drive for another 4-5 hours before getting home...wow and i thought my day was long!!!
We got to visit with the puppies that are about 8 weeks old right now and help Morgan decide which one she will get in a few weeks...so exciting! omg puppies....they smell so amazing!
a bit of a nap and a restful evening followed!
Happy to be on the other side of the country.
